Mattie Rae Tenda

Mattie Rae Tenda, age 30, passed away unexpectedly on June 15, 2016. Mattie went home to be with our Lord and her mother, Crystal. Mattie resided in Simpsonville, SC and formerly of Clarksburg, WV.

Mattie was the daughter of James P. Tenda and the late Crystal Dawn (Hunt) Tenda who passed away on February 28, 2016. Mattie was born on March 18, 1986 in Clarksburg, WV.
Mattie is survived by her father, James P. Tenda; paternal grandparents, Carl and Bernice "Toots" Tenda; maternal grandfather, Ronald Hunt; a special aunt, uncle and cousin, Kim, Richard & Hunter Bizjak of Johnstown, PA; along with several other aunts and uncles.

Mattie was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Crystal Dawn Tenda; maternal grandmother, Judy Hunt; paternal great grandparents, Patsy & Rosie Tenda and Jesse & Mary Harcum; maternal great grandparents, Bud & Marthie Hunt and Juanita Shannon.

Mattie was a graduate of Davis and Elkins College School of Nursing and was employed by the Greater Greenville Health Care Systems. Mattie graduated from Liberty High School in 2004. Mattie loved dance and cheerleading, she attended the Mitzi Lane School of dance starting at the age of 3 until she was 18 years old. Mattie cheered for Washington Irving Middle School, Robert C. Byrd High School and Liberty High School, which she was a member of the 2003 AA cheering champions.

Mattie was a wonderful, bright, vibrant, loving and caring daughter and granddaughter. Mattie will forever be loved and missed by all that she left behind, no more so than her special Nana Toots. Mattie will leave a lasting impression on all the loving family and friends with whom she so lovingly touched and graced by her life. We can all be comforted knowing that Mattie is with God and her mother. The old must die the young shall.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr., Clarksburg, on Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 2:00-8:00pm, with a prayer service at 7:30pm and on Friday, June 24, 2016 from 10:00am - 12:00pm;Catholic funeral rites will take place in the Chapel of Davis Funeral Home on Friday at 1:00pm with Father Patsy Wash and Father Akila Rodrigo, presiding. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
