I'll never be able to hear another Leonard Cohen song again without thinking of My Dear Aunt. I miss her terribly.

Carmel came into my life several years ago. I went there to clean her house and ended up getting one the best friends I've ever had. She was a precious soul who always put everyone else before herself. She loved to give stuff away. I never left her house empty handed, because she wouldn't let me, even if it was a bag of potato chips:blush:. We loved to play scrabble when I would visit her. She always won! I loved listening to her tell stories about her life. My little one george loved her from day one and she loved him. After my mom passed away I remember her telling me not to worry I could call her Momma Donna:blush:. Diana and I had many good times with her taking her out to eat and laughing and carrying on. She will be missed deeply. She will forever hold a spot in my heart. Until we meet again Carmel. Love always Shawna:cry:

Carmel 'Donnie' Hart was the most positive, caring, giving person I have ever met. From the moment I walked into her home to be the Hospice Volunteer for her husband Ed 16 years ago, I knew I was going to love her and be heart friends a long time. She referred to many of us that came into her home as family and that is definitely what she became. While they were physically able she and her sister Betty joined our weekly family pasta dinner. She was the last to sit down at the table because she wanted to make sure everyone had what they needed and the first to get up to start the dishes. She loved music. When a song came on that had a good fast beat, she would say 'I have to move' and she would start dancing. When it became necessary for her to use a walker, she danced with it. She loved attending church with me on Sundays and then we would go out for breakfast or my husband Wakem would have it prepared and ready for us when we came home. Donnie loved her children deeply. I could go on and on about this lady and I'll treasure many wonderfully memories in my heart, especially the last words she said to me just over a week ago, 'I love you'.
