Message from Joe Shaffer - April 01, 2014 at 09:31 PM

I grew up across from the Mazzie family. To say that they were and are good people is an understatement. Johnny was five years older than me. He was a great big brother to his brothers and all the kids in the neighborhood. He was an organizer at even a young age. He learned from his Dad. His life was a life well lived. All who knew him were lucky to have had him. Rest in peace buddy.
Message from John Fox - April 01, 2014 at 09:20 AM

We are blessed to have been your neighbors for 6 years. When I first moved there, I always felt safe, because you were next door. We watched over each other's homes, and I remember John telling me if there was anything I needed, help myself. I will miss John making Dominico and Jovanni laugh in church. I would laugh and smile, because I knew he was the one making them laugh. We will miss John very much. You all are like a second family to us.Love you.The Minnocci FamilyJulie, John, Dominico, and Jovanni

To the family of John Mazzie it is with deepest symphonies and sadness in my heart for your lose of John. I worked with John for many years at the factory; and never heard a bad thing sad about him. My thoughts are with you through this difficult time. I apologized for not being able to attend the viewing or funeral. Roger Helmick
Message from Bob Lynch - March 31, 2014 at 05:05 PM

my name is Bob Lynch. I knew John has a teenager in northview. We worked together at the paper office mailroom in the early 70s. He was a great guy and I've thought of him many times over the years. I attended eighth grade with his sister Rita. My heart and prayers go our to his family and friends. I haven't lived in Clarksburg in over 40yrs., but I still have fond memories of him and his family.

What a good man, John came from a great family, his parents were Saints, you could go to the Mazzie home and be welcomed with open arms by all. John was kind, loving, warm, spiritual person whose light shined on all that knew him. Whenever we met his first words were"how are your boys", tell them " I send my best". John will be missed by us all, he could make you feel uplifted just by his smile. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and light prepetual light shine upon him forever. Our deepest sympathy, and prayers to his family. Betty & Mike Blackshire

Message from Jerry Rexroad - March 30, 2014 at 03:28 PM

Some of the best memories of my life were ones spent with the Mazzie family. John's mother and father treated everyone who came to their house like family. My great uncle and cousins lived close to them and we spent many happy hours on Williams Ave. John will be missed by all his friends and people who were touched by his kindness and love. His light will continue to shine in all of us that were lucky enough to know and share time with him in this life. God Bess you John, your friend Jerry Rexroad.

Message from Jeff Hoover - March 29, 2014 at 07:37 PM

John, and brother Rusty, were very important in my life. They both had such a wonderful and positive outlook. Their good nature, humor, and love of athletics touched many Northview youngsters. I enjoyed running into John as I entered Hite Field to watch our daughters perform at half time of football games. I will miss both of these Mazzie men. Although I never met either of their spouses and children, I'm certain they are good people and will cherish their legacies; I know I will. Jeff Hoover

John was a loving husband, father, and friend. John always was there with helping hands for many. I remember it took us 13 years for our 2nd child, a son, and John was as happy about as we were. When our baby boy was born he came to visit with the cutest outfit. He also came to visit many times when my husband, Cliff had cancer, and there to comfort me. John stepped in to be a Pall Bearer for Cliff's funeral even though he had to return to work at Fourco. Our deepest sympathy, thoughts, and prayers to his family. R. I. P. John Mazzie, you'll truly be misssed!

Message from Bruce Kuhar - March 29, 2014 at 09:25 AM

John and I first met when we began attending Victory High School. We became friends and I always felt welcome in the home of his parents, Russ and Mary. We had kept contact through "Class of '73" functions and morning coffee at Panera Bread, on occasion, when I was in town. I always admired John for being his own man and I will miss him. Deepest sympathy to Brenda and the Mazzie family.
