Worthy “Darrell” Runyon 83, of Lost Creek passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022 at Bridgeport Health Care Center with family by his side. He was born on January 13, 1939 in Glenville, WV, son of the late Worthy Daren Runyon and Bertha Brady Runyon.
Darrell was a Cement Finisher with the local Union for over forty years. He enjoyed hunting, riding 4-wheelers and side by sides. He could fix anything. Darrell loved spending time with his family.
Darrell is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Shirley Jean Kern Runyon whom he married September 26, 1959; two children, Rex J Kern and Harry Hakes, Williamsport, PA, Daniel Runyon and Heather, Lost Creek; one grandson, Jeremiah Runyon; three great grandchildren, Natalie Grace Runyon, Mackenleigh Jayde Runyon and Joshua Shane Runyon II; two sisters, Bernice Keesucker, Jane Lew, Freda Swick, Geneva, OH; one brother, Denzel Runyon and Lou, Lockney, WV; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Darrell is preceded in death by one daughter, Susan Kay Runyon; and one grandson, Joshua “Josh” Shane Runyon.
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive Clarksburg/Nutter Fort, on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, from 4-8PM. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 11:00AM with the Pastor Bobby Kern presiding. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
