Worthy Vernon Devericks, Jr., 64 of Clarksburg, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at his home. He was born on May 10, 1961 in Clarksburg, a son of the late Worthy Vernon Devericks and Betty Kathleen Law Devericks.
He is survived by his children, Worthylee Devericks of Virginia, DJ Waters and Jenny Fiddler both of WV; two grandchildren, Kaden Devericks and Athena Devericks; siblings, Susie Smith, Michael Devericks, Lisa Winters, Larry Whitt, Jr., Kelly Wagoneer, Cindy Hopkins and Deana Butler; special nephew Shaun Duncan; and former spouse Reva Ann Miller.
Worthy was a talented Sign Language Interpreter who dedicated many years of service before his retirement. Through his work, he made a lasting impact on countless lives, bridging communication with compassion and skill. He had a love for travel and found great joy in his 304 Jeep group adventures, camping trips, and spending time outdoors. He especially enjoyed taking family members to visit the Romney School for the Deaf, sharing both his passion and his pride in the Deaf community.
Worthy had a presence that could light up an entire room. He was known for his quick wit and ability to make people laugh, leaving smiles wherever he went. Big-hearted, determined, and hardworking, he approached life with strength and generosity. Above all else, Worthy cherished his family, and the time he spent with them was what mattered most to him.
