William “Bill” Robert George, 81, of Clarksburg, formerly of Cochranton, PA passed away on Friday May 15, 2020 at his residence with his wife by his side. He was born November 6, 1938 in Meadville, PA, son of Robert Harold and Lucy Virginia Holloway George.
Bill graduated from Meadville High School, Class of 1956. He served his country in the United States Army and was a mechanic for a Microwave station in Japan. Bill build houses and did contracting work with his father and brothers in PA. When he moved to WV, he worked as a maintenance supervisor for Electrical Systems and retired in 2000. Bill was a member of the Masonic Lodge #740 in PA where he was a 32nd Degree Mason. Bill loved God and his family more than words could ever say. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting antique engines, going to auctions and yard sales. Bill also enjoyed sitting in the garage and talking to neighbors and friends. His favorite past time was sitting in the swing on the front porch at camp.
Bill is survived by his wife, Patricia Sue McKinney George; three children, Robert David George and wife Annette, Greenville, PA, Susan Marie Ford, Cochranton, PA, Jeffrey Keith George, Cochranton, PA and their mother, Evelyn M Lynn George of Cochranton, PA; six grandchildren, Ryan, David and wife Amber, Alex, Kelsey, Shanna, and Zack; two great grandchildren, Carly and Addie; two sisters, Mary Catherine Bauer and husband Terry, Hartford, MI, Virginia “Gini” Louise Randolph and husband Gerald, Clarksburg; two brothers, Richard Emory George and wife Betty, Phoenix, AZ, James Francis George, Saegertown, PA; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Jim Giordano.
