William Allan "Al" Thomas Sr.

William Allan “Al” Thomas, Sr. 76, of Salem passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023.  He was born on February 26, 1947 in Grasonville, MD, a son of the late Cecil Thomas and Thelma Tull Drenning.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sandra Dean Thomas, whom he married on September 12, 1975.

He is also survived by four children, William Allan Thomas, Jr., Donnie J. Thomas and wife Rebecca of Cartersville, GA, Jennifer Thomas and her husband David Burk of Glenn Rock, PA, and Tracey Hogue and husband Len of Salem; eight grandchildren, Robert, William, Donald “DJ”, Kacie, Sarah, Ashley, Len, III, and Meygan; great grandchildren, Cecilia, Alexis, Christopher, Spencer, Veronica, Hayden and Willow; one sister, Cecelia Simmons and husband Jack of Elkton, MD; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, Robert Thomas; and one brother Johnnie Thomas.

Al was employed with Baltimore Sign company which later became Foxfire for many years.  Most recently, he was employed at Home Depot in the plumbing and electric department.  Al was a friendly and easy-going person who was very well liked and always enjoyed joking with his family and friends.  He enjoyed fishing and bowling and he will also be remembered as a hardworking and loving family man.

Family and friends will be received at the Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Route 98, Clarksburg on Monday, October 23, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 PM. Where a funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM.
