William "Billy" Shingleton, Sr.

William "Billy" Shingleton, Sr. of Bridgeport WV departed this life on January 20, 2025 following an extended illness. Billy was born in the Meadland area of Hepzibah on September 10, 1957 to the late Dorsey J. Shingleton and Frances Chute Shingleton.

Billy is survived by his loving wife of nearly 38 years, Annagale Cottrill Shingleton and his beloved sons, Bryan Fittro and Justin Shingleton, daughter in law, Amy Shingleton; grandsons, Jordan and Scott Weekley; surviving siblings, two sisters, Nancy Belcastro with husband John D. Belcastro and Darlene Dewitt with her husband Scott Dewitt, as well as brothers Lawrence and Tommy Shingleton; Mother-in-law, Elsie Cottrill, Father-in-law Carson Cottrill, Sister-in-law, Velva Shreves with husband Tim Shreves, Brother-in-laws, Jimmy Cottrill with wife Patricia Cottrill, David Cottrill with wife Ann Cottrill, and Bobby Cottrill with wife Sherry Cottrill.

Billy was preceded in death by two sisters, Ann Smith and Mary Shingleton along with three brothers Jimmy, Bobby, and Leroy Shingleton.

Billy was a gentle soul who made friends with everyone he met and never met a stranger. 

He was an honest, hardworking man that retired from a local repair shop but, was always finding projects to keep himself busy. 

Billy enjoyed camping in the great outdoors and traveling with his family to his favorite destinations such as Audra State Park and Amish Country in Ohio.

Billy loved his family and never failed to give you a hug or tell you that he loved you as you walked out the door. 

Family and friends will be received at the Davis Funeral Home, Sunday, January 26, 2025 from 1-5:00PM and on Monday, January 27, 2025 from 9:00AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00AM with Pastor Tom Horne and Pastor Jeff Landis Officiating.
