Willard “Sonny” William Herrod

Willard “Sonny” William Herrod, 84 of Clarksburg passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at Grafton City Hospital. He was born May 10, 1938 on Wiseman Run Salem, son of the late Melvin Robert and Lucille Mae Ash Herrod and was raised by Willard Wellington and Fannie Marie McGowan Herrod.  Sonny served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a mechanic, owned a hardware store and drove truck over the road for many years. His hobbies included going to flea markets, doing autobody work and hunting.  Sonny is survived by two children, Jennifer Ann Herrod, Clarksburg, Corrine Berry Gattarello, Cleveland, OH; five grandchildren, Meghan Glover, Caitlin Southern, ManDi Glover, Robert Glover and Joseph Gattarello; five great grandchildren, Josiah, ElyJah, Gaige, Remmington, Paisley, Samantha, and Elisia; one brother, Melvin “Shorty” Herrod and wife Martha, Clarksburg. In addition to his parents, Sonny was preceded in death by his former wife, Rita Kathryn DeLucia Herrod; one son, Richard Berry; one granddaughter, Monique Gattarello.  Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from 4-7PM Graveside Service will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 12:00 noon at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens with Rev Cindy Boggs officiating and full military honors being accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard and the US Air Force Honor Guard.
