Beloved mother, grandmother, and sister Violet Elaine Bartlett Wilmoth, 84, of Bridgeport, WV received her heavenly wings on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Harmony of White Oaks.
She was born in Brown, WV on January 5, 1939, a daughter of the late Edgar Jackson and Mary Ernestine Cunningham Bartlett.
She is survived by her daughter Donna Lilly and husband Tim of Bridgeport; her son David Wilmoth and wife Beth of Bridgeport; four grandchildren, Jason Anderson and wife Amy of Good Hope; Ryon Anderson of Clarksburg; Mitchell Wilmoth and wife Brittany of Oceanside, CA; and Kayla Cottrell and husband Cody of Bridgeport; step granddaughter Amy Manning and husband Jason of Bridgeport; step grandson Alex Lilly of Wilmington, NC; nine great-grandchildren, Kyleigh Anderson; Jaxon Anderson; Ellie, Arlo, and Ayen Wilmoth; Collen, Connor, and Cade Cottrell; and Amelia Manning; sisters Judy Robinson and Linda Leach, both of Parkersburg, WV; sisters-in-law Sue Bartlett of Princeton, WV, and Diane Bartlett of Baltimore, MD; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers Arlan Clacy Bartlett and Edgar Warren Bartlett; brothers-in-law John Robinson and Larry Leach; nephew Brendon Robinson; and her ex-husband David Lee Wilmoth.
Violet graduated from Wallace High School, Class of 1957. She worked for Anchor Hocking and Dominion Energy where she was known for her dedicated work ethic. Violet loved working outdoors immaculately maintaining her yard and flower gardens. She was an excellent cook, baker, and seamstress and enjoyed line dancing, Red Hat Club shenanigans, and watching WVU Mountaineer football and NASCAR racing. Violet was a member of the Reynoldsville Baptist Church.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to all of the staff of Harmony at White Oaks where Violet made her home during her final three years. We will be forever grateful for the incredible love, care, and attention she received. Everyone there treated her as a beloved member of their family. Additionally, the family thanks WVU Medicine Hospice for Violet’s wonderful end of life care.
The family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home on Rt. 98 Clarksburg/ Nutter Fort on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 from 2:00 PM until the time of the Funeral Service at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Jon Hayes officiating. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 10:00 AM at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Brown, WV.
