Vera Hope Edgell, 71 of Clarksburg passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at her daughter’s residence with family by her side. She was born on April 7, 1952 in Webster Springs, WV, daughter of the late Earnest W Bowers and Erma L Gregory. Vera attended Roosevelt Wilson High School. She worked at Manhattan Restaurant and GC Murphy’s back in Clarksburg’s hay day. Her hobbies were reading a good book (and cheesy romance novels too) and playing bingo. Vera is survived by her children, Chuck Gregory and wife Jess, Hopkinton, NH, Stephanie Miller and husband Matt, Conway, SC; six grandchildren, Noah Gregory, Evan Gregory, Elli Gregory, Rylee Miller, Rogan Miller and Remmi Miller; siblings, Noreen Franklin and Danny Franklin, Clarksburg, Carol Timpano and Albert Timpano, Chesterfield, VA, Randy Gregory and Debra Compo-Gregory, Santa Maria, CA, Jim Gregory and Cheri Gregory, Carnegie, PA; nieces and nephews, Shawn and Angela Kirtner, Shane and Jeannie Kirtner, Chris Kirtner, Shana MacNeil, Brett Timpano, Justin Timpano, and Danielle Timpano; great nieces and nephews, Nathan, Natalie, Zachary, Ethan, and Grace. In addition to her parents, Vera was preceded in death by her previous husbands, Jim Conrad and George Edgell, and brother, Wendell Gregory. The family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home on Rt. 98 Clarksburg/ Nutter Fort on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 3-7 PM. and on Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 9:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Kelly Clevenger officiating.
