Troy “Butch” Wayne Layfield, 76, of Clarksburg passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024 with family by his side. He was born December 19, 1947 in Clarksburg, WV, son of the late Joseph Haywood and Elizabeth Mary Bittenbenden Layfield.
Troy served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He then went to work for Anchor Hocking. He was a collector and also enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors and bowling with his friends at Compton Lanes.
Troy is survived by two daughter, Rebecca Huntermark and husband Eugene, Tammy Clayton and husband Chad of Clarksburg; three siblings Douglas Layfield of Clarksburg, Wilma Fiscus of Ravenna and James “Jim” Layfield of Stonewood; three grandchildren; Lindsey Morgan, Kimberly Morgan and Aurora Huntermark; and several additional nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Troy is preceded in death by his sister Barbara Sue Wilfong; brothers-in-law, Paul Hurst and John Fiscus.
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, WV 26301 on Monday, September 16, 2024 from 3-7PM and on Tuesday, September 17, 10:00AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:30 AM with Reverend Tim Kelley officiating. Interment will be at West Virginia National Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard and the US Army Honor Guard.
