Sylvia Jean (Barr) Pellegrin

Sylvia Jean Pellegrin, 84 of Mt Clare passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021. She was born on December 3, 1936 in Fairmont, the daughter of the late Clarence Ray Barr Sr and Mabel Elizabeth Crites Barr.

Sylvia graduated from Fairview High School, attended Central Tech in Hartford, CT and Fairmont State College. She was executive director of Small World Center of Child Care in Fairmont. Sylvia was also certified in Pharmacy Tech and AMAP in handicap and elder care for over twenty-four years. She collected angels and unicorns. Sylvia enjoyed shopping and caring for people. Her greatest accomplishment was becoming a mother. She loved her family and they were her life. She attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fairmont and Our Lady of Preputial Help in Stonewood. 

Sylvia is survived by three children, Christopher Dana Pellegrin and Leslie, Grafton, Lana Jo Smith, Fairmont, David Lane Pellegrin and Danelle, Mt Clare; seven grandchildren, Jerald, Sarah and Travis, Christopher, Paige, Craig, Cameron, and Payton; four great grandchildren, Aubree, Elan, Sophia, and Navara; special nephew, Stephen  Ray Barr; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by two brothers, Artemas Dale Barr and Clarence Ray Barr Jr; one sister, Icie Matthews.

Family will receive friends for visitation at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive Clarksburg, WV 26301, on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 from 2-7:00PM. Catholic Funeral Rites will be Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 11:00AM with Father Kumar Reddimasu as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
