Stephen P. Coyle, 74, of Clarksburg, West Virginia, passed away in his home on Monday, October 6, 2025. He was born on May 25, 1951 in Worcester, MA, the son of the late William F. Coyle and Shirley (Young) Hanson. He is survived by his 3 children: Stacey Coyle Namiotka and her husband Jeffrey of Hudson, OH, Susan Coyle of Kent, OH, Stephen Coyle of Rohnert Park, CA, and by his former wife Eileen Coyle of Kent, OH.
He leaves behind his brothers, Dennis and William Coyle, 6 grandchildren: Miranda, Nora, Gehrig, Trey, Josie and Charlie, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Christine Bergeron this past July, and brothers Michael Coyle and Daniel Coyle.
Steve served his country in the United States Marine Corps and later was a member of the National Guard. Steve was an outstanding chess player, avid reader and history buff. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Worcester State College and was a teacher for Worcester Public Schools. He also worked many years for the U.S. Post Office.
His children will forever cherish the good times they had with him, including the igloo he built for them during the blizzard of 1978 and the club house he built in the backyard of their home on Apricot St.
A private family service will be held to honor Steve’s life.
