Starla "Dee" Young

Starla “Dee” Young, 79 of Bridgeport passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024 at the Clarksburg Healthcare Center. She was born in Grundy, VA on February 28, 1945 the daughter of the late James Garfield of Wise, VA and Martha Jane Newsome Sproles of Kona, KY.

Dee graduated from Grundy Senior High in Grundy, Va. She worked at Landmark Inc a software company in Administration. She loved to care and be with children. Her hobbies were reading and sewing.

Dee is survived by her siblings, Julia Hatfield, Douglas Sproles, Rex Sproles, Rita Camarillo, and Minnie Jo Edwards; nieces and nephews, Barbara Sebastian, Doug Hatfield, Bill Edwards, Robert Edwards, Erica Lynn Wright, Stacy Leigh Rubio, Rhonda York, Michael, Kevin, Debbie, Karen and Pamela; numerous great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Dee is preceded in death by her son, Sean Barnett Young; siblings, Lillian Marie Sproles and Bill Sproles.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, WV 26301, for a Celebration of Dee’s Life on Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 2:00PM-4:00PM.
