Stanley Brent Stewart, 75, of Clarksburg, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at the Louis A. Johnson Medical Center. He was born on March 20, 1948 in Clarksburg, a son of the late Stacy Brent Stewart ad Eugenia Propts.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Linda Lou Stewart, who passed away at 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018. They were married on July 7, 1971.
He is survived by one son, Stacy Stewart and wife Ann of Shinnston; five grandchildren, Anna Downey and husband Robert, Emily Apel and husband Andrew, Megan Stewart, Emily Gerard and Erica Landis and husband Corey; six great grandchildren, Austin, Landen, Jace, Mia, Spencer and Daryl.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Charity Vangilder.
Stanley was a graduate of Victory High School, class of 1966. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a Bus Driver and later as a Bus Mechanic for the Harrison County School Board until his retirement.
He enjoyed flowers and gardening, watching hummingbirds, NASCAR and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 1:00 PM at West Virginia National Cemetery. Military Honors will be held by the Harrison County Honor Guard.
