Stanford Wayne “Hank” Barrett

With great sadness the family of Stanford Wayne “Hank” Barrett, 73 of Salem, WV (Cherry Camp Community) announce his passing on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at United Hospital Center, Bridgeport, WV.

Wayne “Hank” was born September 5, 1949 in Clarksburg, WV son of the late Harry H. and Bertha E. (Bailey) Barrett.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Varner) Barrett, of Salem, WV; one son, Jamie, and one daughter this from a previous marriage who reside in Ohio.  Three step-daughters; Jaclyn Bocchetti and husband Chris and their sons Vincent and Tony of Harpers Ferry, WV, Mariana (Secreto) McClung and husband Cody of Stanfield, NC and sons Eric and Joshua, Kim (Secreto) Fontaine and husband Freddie Jay of Charlotte NC.  One step-son Jodi Davis and wife Teresa of New Jersey with their daughter, Jessica (Davis) Merrill and husband Nathan.  Three siblings Becky (Barrett) Miller of Clarksburg WV, Ruth “Angel” (Barrett) Sayers and husband Matt of Lincoln Nebraska, Marquetta (Barrett) Jones and husband Dave of Clarksburg, WV, also several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was proceeded in death by his siblings: Estie “Johnny” Barrett, Leroy Barrett, Linda (Barrett) West, Ann (Barrett) Robinson, Luther “Dick” Barrett and Carolyn "Sue" Marie Barrett Suggs.

Wayne served his country in the U.S. Army in the military police division.  He worked with Baker Hughes for several years working as a truck driver and several other positions in the oil filed.  Wayne was an avid ham operator and enjoyed talking with his friends all over the U.S. and international, as well.  He also had a passion for hunting, target practicing, gun reloading, collecting, and modifying guns.  He loved to go for long rides with his wife, both on road and off road with his truck and ATV. 

Family and friends will be received at Davis Funeral Home 124 Olen Thomas Dr. Clarksburg, WV 26301 on Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 12:00pm-1:00pm. Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm at Boring Cemetery with Pastor Tom Jeffries officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard and the United States Army.
