She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Willie Greynolds, who passed away on October 23, 2003.  They were united in marriage on December 15, 1946.

She is survived by her children, Cheryl Nixon of Clarksburg, Daniel Greynolds and wife Jeannie of Lumberport, Dennis Greynolds of Bastian, VA, Kenneth Lee Greynolds and wife Sophia of Jane Lew, Bruce Greynolds of Clarksburg and Cathy Lewis and husband Kenneth of Clarksburg; grandchildren, Frank Nixon and wife Barbara, Bryan Nixon and wife Lola, Gregory Nixon, Traci Wagoner and husband Eli, Shawn Greynolds and wife Suzie, Melissa Poling and husband Aaron, Kevin Greynolds and wife Crystal, Christopher Lodge, Joshua Lewis and wife Jen, Nicolas Lewis and wife Marlayna; 16 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her grandson, Tim Nixon; and daughter in law Sheryl Greynolds

Sophia lived her life as a quiet but steady source of strength for those around her. She was a strong, loving, and deeply caring woman who had a natural way of making others feel comfortable and welcome. Though she was gentle and soft-spoken, her presence was felt in the warmth she shared and in the constant smile she carried with her through life’s joys and challenges.  Family was always at the center of Sophia’s world. She took great pride in caring for her family, making sure they were supported, comforted, and loved in both big and small ways. Whether through daily acts of kindness, thoughtful words, or simply being there when someone needed her, Sophia showed her love through action.

She found peace and happiness in flowers and gardening, spending time nurturing beauty and life around her home. Watching things grow brought her joy and reflected the patience and care she showed in all areas of her life.  Sophia was a devoted member of Oak Mound Evangelical Church, where her faith was an important part of who she was. Her church family and her spiritual life provided her with strength, guidance, and a sense of belonging.

Sophia will be remembered for her gentle heart, her devotion to her family, and the quiet but powerful love she gave so freely to those blessed to know her.
