Shannon Marie Shuman, 47, of Clarksburg, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at West Virginia Caring in Elkins. She leaves behind a lifetime of love, kindness, and deeply cherished memories that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew her.
She was born on November 12, 1978, in Fairmont, the beloved daughter of the late Charles Edward Poe and Kimberly Dean Clevenger Baker.
Shannon shared a beautiful life with her devoted husband of twenty-four years, Clifford “Brooks” Shuman, whom she married on April 24, 2001. Their love was a constant source of strength and comfort throughout her life.
In addition to her husband, she is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Nodia Hitt (Dustin) of Clarksburg; her treasured grandchildren, Alaundra May Hitt, Aidon Kirk Hitt, and Cathan Layne Hitt; and her siblings, Danielle Poe of Florida, Scott Baker (Chelsea) of Charleston, and Raquel Watson (Lee) of Clarksburg.
Along with her parents, Shannon was reunited in passing with her beloved son, Nathaniel Shuman.
A proud graduate of South Harrison High School, Class of 1997, Shannon devoted her life to her family as a homemaker. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, listening to music, creating diamond art, and, above all, spending precious time with those she loved most.
Shannon will be remembered as a deeply caring mother and grandmother, whose warmth, compassion, and gentle spirit touched everyone around her.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her funeral care fund located on her memorial page.
