Samuel “Sam” John McInnes, 94, of Enterprise, WV, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at the Pierpont Center with family by his side. He was born on June 26, 1931 in in Bingamon, Marion County, son of the late David Sloan and Leona Daniels McInnes.
Sam served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. He worked as a coalminer for over 45 years retiring in 1995 as a Mechanic Boss at the CONSOL mines in Shinnston. He enjoyed being outdoors and doing yard work, golfing, bowling, traveling and working on cars.
Sam is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Louise (Blake) McInnes whom he married on June 25, 1966; one daughter-in-law, Jonna Barnett of Fairmont; one grandson, Travis John Barnett and companion, Ashley McKee; one sister, Carol June Smith, MI; one brother, Archie McInnes (Kitty), OH; special niece, Carol Bennett; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Samuel is preceded in death by his children, Bradford Barnett, John Allen McInnes, and Terrie Jo Marie; one granddaughter, April McDonough; son-in-law, Charles “Chuck” Marie; brother, David McInnes, sister, Kathleen Leona Caloccia.
A Graveside Service will be held at the West Virginia National on Monday, October 27, 2025 at 2:00 PM with full military honors accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard and the United States Marines Honor Guard. Family and friends will meet at the main entrance of the cemetery to be escorted up at 1:50 PM. Online condolences can be made at www. DavisFuneralHomeWV.com.
