Obituary
Ruth Darlene Wright, 82, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away peacefully at home on March 14, 2023. Ruth was born in Clarksburg, WV on August 19, 1940, daughter of the late Homer and Clara Kinney Bennett.
Ruth graduated from Washington Irving High School, Class of 1958. Her passion was children and even babysat numerous kids throughout her life. She loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed her visits to see her best friends Cecelia and Diana Lemasters in South Carolina.
Ruth is survived by her two children, Gerald “Butch” Wright II and wife Jill of Gallipolis, OH; Kimberly “Susie” Mellie and husband Robert of Clarksburg; eight grandchildren, Jessica White, Kristin Hudkins and husband Rezin, Nicholas Wright and wife Hattie, Camryn Oldaker and husband Kaleb, Spencer Mellie, Brooke Clutter and husband Travis, Noel Shaver and husband Joe; six great grandchildren, Hayden, Lucas, Keegan, Tripp, Riley and Asher; one sister, Virginia “Widge” Skinner of TX; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was also preceded in death by her husband, Gerald “Jerry” Allen Wright in 2016; one daughter Tina Wright; eight brothers and sisters.
