Ruth Ellen Clayton

Ruth Ellen Clayton, 78, of Bridgeport, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024 in Bridgeport.  She was born on October 23, 1946 in Fairmont, a daughter of the late Ralph Maruka and Wilma Jean Mick Maruka.

She is survived by three children, Chad Clayton and wife Tammy of Clarksburg, Susan Barker of Fairmont and Jason Clayton and wife Julie of Fairmont; two grandchildren, Jensen and Jett Clayton; and one brother, Cris Maruka of KY.

Ruth was a graduate of Fairmont Senior High School, class of 1964.  She was employed as an assistant manager for JC Penney in the children’s clothing department for 17 years.  She enjoyed going on cruises and loved all animals, especially taking care of rescue dogs.  She was a determined woman and enjoyed meeting and talking to people she met through work or her travels.
