Ronald Keener Obituary

Ronald Wayne Keener, 75, of White Hall, went to be with the Lord on April 12, 2022, he was surrounded by his family during his final moments at home. Ronald was born on October 19, 1946 at Fairmont General Hospital.

Ronald is the son of the late Archie Keener and Bessie Gribble Keener of Fairmont.

Ronald worked as the Personnel Coordinator for Eastern Coal, Louie Glass Company and Ruskin Manufacturing. He loved playing the guitar and singing, gardening and just being outside sitting in the sunshine. He loved reading the bible and attending church. He was known to his family as the one you call for help or the one his wife “volunteered him” to help. In his younger years, he enjoyed basketball and swimming at Valley Falls. Most of all he loved being a papaw. He cherished his time with all of his grandchildren.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Zella Martin Keener. In addition to Zella, he is also survived by his two children; Melanie Keener Naternicola and her husband Aric Naternicola of Fairmont, and Ronald Wayne Keener II and his wife Jeana Keener of Fairmont.

Ronald is also survived by his grandchildren; Austin Naternicola and his wife Leslie, Gia Keener, Kruz Keener, Ella Naternicola, Claire Naternicola, Vincent Naternicola, Laura Atkinson and Mikaela Atkinson. Several nieces and nephews that were all special to him, especially Laura Martin Murphy.

Ronald is best known to his family as an amazing fun filled loving man. He lived each day to its fullest. Always smiling and willing to help others. The family would like to say special thanks to all the wonderful nurses at Mon general Hospital, Dr. Sanjay Bharti of Medbridge and Amedisys Hospice care.

Upon Ronald’s wishes he will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held at a later date on July 10th. Online condolences can be made on www.davisfuneralhomewv.com. Davis Funeral Home is honored to serve the Keener family.
