A man of many trades and talents, Bob served his country honorably for four years in the United States Army. After his military service, he explored a wide range of careers, from working at Welch Construction to owning his own carpet store, serving as a security guard at United Hospital Center (UHC), and always lending a hand to his good friend, Harry.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in West Union, the Carpenters Union, and a pilot in the Civil Air Patrol, and a member of the Barbour County Country Club - a reflection of his adventurous spirit and lifelong commitment to service.
He had a carefree soul and a great sense of humor. He never missed a chance to make someone laugh and could strike up a conversation with anyone. He loved working with his hands, whether it was fixing things or building something new, and he always enjoyed a good day on the golf course.
He will be deeply missed by those who knew him, not just for his dedication and talents, but for the joy, laughter, and lightheartedness he brought to everyday life.
