Robert "Bob" Dennison Obituary

Robert “Bob” J. Dennison 82, of Quiet Dell passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown following a brief illness. He was born September 5, 1939 in Clarksburg, son of the late Blaine Hull and Sarah Vivian Fansler Dennison. Bob is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Carolyn Tinder Dennison; three sons, Michael H Dennison (Stacy), Frank Lance Dennison (Kim), Gary W Spragg; one daughter, Kimberly S LeFevre (Phillip); several grandchildren and two great grandson’s; a sister Sheila Anderson (Donald), Ridgely; brother-in-law, William Crislip, OH; several nieces, nephews, great friends and neighbors.  In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Margarette Ann (Peggy) Crislip; along with several aunts, uncles and cousins. Bob graduated from Washington Irving High School, Class of 1957. He studied at Fairmont State University, Potomac State College where he studied Recreation and Business. He served his country in the United States Navy where he studied Aviation Flight at US Naval School of Flight in Pensacola, FL. Bob retired from R.D. Wilson Sons and Company as Sales Manager after forty-three years of service. He loved all sports, playing, coaching and officiating: Football, Baseball, Softball, Basketball, and working with RCB Girls’ Volleyball team up to the age of seventy-five. He was extremely proud to privately coach his grandson, Nathan D LeFevre in Baseball, Football, Golf and Basketball. He enjoyed camping at Middle Fork Camp Resort. Later he wintered in Sarasota, Fl, enjoying the game of golf with a dear childhood friend, Ronnie Lawman of Sarasota, FL. Bob was a godly man and belonged to the Promise Keepers and he dedicated his life and passion to uniting men as followers of Jesus Christ. He was also a member of the Hermon Lodge #6 A.F. & A.M., Clarksburg, Scottish Rite Valley of Wheeling; Nemesis Shrine Club of Parkersburg. Most of all Bob loved his family. Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, WV 26301 on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 1:00 PM with Reverend George Bramble.  Private Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens where full military honors will be accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard and the United States Navy Honor Guard.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Harrison County Honor Guard, 430 W Pike St, Clarksburg, WV 26301.
