Richard “Dick” Thomas Duckworth, 83, of Clarksburg passed away Monday, September 27, 2021 at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. He was born in Churchville, WV on January 23, 1938, son of the late William Thomas and Pauline Olive Orrahood Duckworth.
Dick graduated and served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Navy. He later worked for many years in production until his retirement at Lockheed Martin. Dick was a volunteer at the Clarksburg Police Department under Steve Toryak where he was named “VIP”. He often filled in at the front desk to cover shifts when people were out of the office. He also collected racing jackets. He was a United Way Member.
Dick is survived by one son, Richard “Rick” Thomas Duckworth, II; companion, Denise Cate, and her daughter, Heather Eakle and her daughter, Kayli Thompson; one sister, several great friends and neighbors.
In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Lovadis Huffman Duckworth.
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive Clarksburg, WV 26301, on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 from 3-7PM. A funeral service will be held in the Davis Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 11:30AM with Dr. Lou Ortenzio officiating. Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the US Navy Honor Guard and the Taylor County Honor Guard.
