Richard Timothy “Tim” Garcia, Jr., 68, of Clarksburg, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026 in Bridgeport at United Hospital Center. He was born on January 14, 1958 in Huntington, a son of the late Richard Garcia, Sr. and Connie Jones Garcia.
He is survived by the love of his life of 42 years, Deborah “Debbie” Suder Garcia, whom he married on July 23, 1983.
He is also survived by two children, Summer Vennis of Mount Clare and Ty Garcia of Grace Lake, IL; three grandchildren, Alexis Garcia, Isaiah Ferrell and Callahan Garcia; one great granddaughter, Ah’Laklynn Brown; siblings, Linda Garcia of Ocala, FL and Craig Garcia and wife Monica of Houston, TX; nieces and nephews, Austin Hayes of Tampa, FL, Adrienne Hayes of SC, Caitlyn Silvas, Eli Garcia, Trinity Garcia and Grayson Garcia, all of Houston, TX.
Tim was a proud graduate of Roosevelt Wilson High School, Class of 1976. He continued his education at Glenville State University before completing his Bachelor of Science degree at Fairmont State College.
Tim began his career in education, teaching at Roosevelt Wilson High School, where he made a lasting impact on his students and colleagues. He later transitioned into pharmaceutical sales, where he dedicated 33 successful years building relationships and serving his clients with integrity and enthusiasm. Though he found success in sales, teaching was always his true calling. He eventually returned to the classroom at South Harrison High School, where he continued to inspire and mentor students.
Tim loved sports, especially football as a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan, and was an avid collector of sports memorabilia. He was also a lifelong fan of DC Comics and Marvel Comics, enjoying the stories and characters that brought him so much excitement over the years.
Above all, Tim cherished time spent with his grandchildren. He was gregarious and truly larger than life, yet gentle in spirit. He always wore a smile and never missed an opportunity to stop and talk. His warmth, humor, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Tim will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends will be received at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Route 98, Clarksburg, on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 2-5 PM, where a memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM with Reverend Tim Kelly presiding. Online condolences may be shared at www.davisfuneralhomewv.com
