Rebecca “Becky” Mick Obituary

Rebecca Jane “Becky” (Everitt) Mick, 70 of Good Hope moved on to her heavenly home on May 21, 2025 at Charleston Area Medical Center following an extended illness. She was the first child of Elizabeth Jane (Davis) Everitt and William Robert Everitt, Jr. born February 9, 1955. She was married on November 18, 1974 to her husband of 50 years, Walter Michael Mick, who survives.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Sadie Evelyn (Young) Davis and William Earl Davis, her paternal grandparents, Agnes Blanch (Mick) Everitt and William Robert Everitt, Sr., and her in-laws Hazel Ruth (Cain) Mick and Clive Lafayette Mick.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her first son, James Isaac Mick and his wife, Christina Mae (Greschke) Mick and her second son William Michael Mick and his wife, Jillian Brooke (Cuddyer) Mick. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Rhiannon Paige (Ray) Mick and Hunter Alexander (Nova) Mick, a sister, Pamela Jo Everitt, and a brother, William Robert Everitt III and his wife, Robin Lynn (Lough) Everitt, two nieces and their husbands, and two great nieces and one great nephew.

Rebecca was raised in North View, Clarksburg and West Milford. She graduated from South Harrison High School in 1973 and Salem College with an Associate Degree in Nursing in 1974. Passing her state board licensing exam in 1974, she became an RN at the age of 19. She began work at Stonewall Jackson Hospital ER in Weston and later St. Joseph Hospital in Buckhannon, old UHC in Clarksburg, and Amedisys Home Health Care until she retired. While living in Buckhannon, she also worked for Dr. Jeanie Wiest, Pediatrician.

Rebecca was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and Nana to her family and the source of much entertainment and laughter for them.

Most importantly, Rebecca knew Christ as her savior and over the years worshipped God at North View EUB Church, West Milford United Methodist Church, Tennerton UMC and finally at home due to her failing health, watching worship services, listening to Christian music, and reading Scripture. She now worships God, face-to-face.
