Raymond Arnold Cox, Jr.

Raymond Arnold Cox, Jr., 79, of Clarksburg West Virginia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 04, 2026, at United Hospital Center. Born on July 31, 1946, in Meadowbrook, West Virginia, Raymond was the beloved son of the late Raymond Arnold Cox, Sr. and Essie Mae Williams Cox Washington.

Raymond graduated in 1964 from Victory High School. He worked for Sears and Roebuck 1965-1985 as an advertising display manager, they gave him leave from duty so that he could serve his country with honor in the United States Army 1966-1968, where he was a Sergeant when he came home in 1968. After he retired from Sears and Roebuck he purchased several properties so that he could become a self-employed Bail Bondsman, he also had a laundry mat and restaurant that they called Ray Ray’s.

Raymond leaves behind his cherished son, Kris Cox of Clarksburg; one sister, Deborah Washington Reynolds and spouse David of SanAntonio, TX., many cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Christine Taylor Cox; one sister, E. Lucile Cox Johnson, step-father George F. Washington, uncles; Earl J. Williams, Howard V. Williams, Clarence F. “Popeye” Williams, aunt; Rosalee Williams

Family and friends will be received at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Route 98, Clarksburg, on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 Noon with Deborah Reynolds officiating. Internment will follow to the West Virginia National Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the United States Army and the Harrison County Honor Guard.
