Ralph "Steven" Halewa Obituary

Ralph "Steven" Halewa, 68, of Brandywine, WV, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2025, at the Clarksburg Veterans Nursing Facility. Born in Kingston, NY, he was a son of the late Isaac Halewa and Jacqueline Schoonmaker Halewa.

Steven graduated from Montevideo High School and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army as a Construction Surveyor. His integrity and sense of duty were evident in all aspects of his life. For many years, he applied his craftsmanship as a self-employed cabinet maker. Outside of work, Steven found joy in collecting antiques, visiting auctions, and was known for his strong work ethic.

He is survived by his three children: Jacqueline Schuller of Dixon, CA, Krissy O’Neal (Jeremiah) of Franklin, WV, and Mariah Wilson of Bristol, TN; five grandchildren: Summer DeSimone (Gino), Matthew Schuller (Amber), Justice Macon (Mike), Sarah Roberts, and Benjamin Wilson; great-grandchildren: Gage, Colton, Olivia, Elaine, and Eliana; one sister, Beverly Prather; one niece, Rose.

In addition to his parents, Steven was preceded in death by one grandchild, Tyler ONeal; one great grandchild, Emberleigh; one brother, Bruce Paul Halewa.

A private interment will be held at the West Virginia National Cemetery.
