Phyllis Gwendolyn Steele

Phyllis Gwendolyn Steele, 84, of Clarksburg, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at the Salem Center.  She was born on August 15, 1940 in Clarksburg, a daughter of the late William Thomas and Emily Gwendolyn Neely Steele.

Phyllis graduated from Washington Irving High School Class of 1958. Phyllis was a bookkeeper for KSD for several years. She was Methodist by Faith and attended Calvary United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, reading, and shopping.

She is survived her one son, Steven Bryan Longwell of Hawaii; three grandchildren, Harley, Jennifer, and Randy; two great-granddaughters, Xoe and Zyra-Ann; two siblings, Elizabeth JoAnn Greene and husband Dan of West Branch, Michigan, and Janet Rose Bond of Evans, Georgia; one nephew and two nieces.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis is preceded in death by one sister, Rachel Ellen Collins; daughter in law, Stephanie Longwell, and brother in law, Sam Bond.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg on Sunday, March 2, 2025 from 2:00PM-5:00PM. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Davis Funeral Home on Monday, March 3, 2025 at 10:00AM with Reverend George Bramble officiating. Interment will follow at Bridgeport Cemetery.
