Peggy Ann Minear

Peggy Ann Minear, 85 of Clarksburg, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 11, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on June 3, 1939 in Clarksburg, WV, daughter of the late Elzie R. Lancaster and Martha B. Richards Lancaster Martin.

Peggy was a high school graduate and retired from Kroger’s Co. in Bridgeport. She was also a group leader for Weight Watchers for many years. She was a Faithful, lifelong servant of her Lord Jesus Christ and a much-loved pastor’s wife at Full Gospel Chapel-Clarksburg. Her life was a testament to grace, kindness, and unwavering faith. She stood beside her husband in ministry, offering quiet strength, heartfelt prayers, and boundless love to both her family and her church community. Peggy was a devoted mother and grandmother; her faith was a guiding light. She nurtured her children and grandchildren with a deep love for God, offering wisdom, prayers, and a living example of what it means to walk in faith.

Peggy is survived by her children: Cheryl Thomas of North View, Michael Phillips of Lost Creek, and Pamela Lambert of Shinnston, Wilma Minear Linn and husband Lonnie of Reynoldsville, Hayward L. Minear II of Clarksburg, Aaron Minear of Clarksburg, and Rebecca Ash of Lost Creek; much loved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews; one brother, Francis Lancaster and spouse Phyllis of Grafton.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Hayward L. Minear I on February 19, 2005; one step-daughter, Deanna L. Minear Cross; one grandson, Joseph Wright; siblings: Richard Lancaster, Robert Lancaster, and Jesse Lancaster.

Family will receive friends at the Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr. Rt. 98, Clarksburg on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 3:00 -7:00 PM and on Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 9:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Tim Sandy officiating.
