Peggie Jo (Weaver) Smith

Peggie Jo Smith 66, of Bridgeport, formerly of South Charleston, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at River Oaks Nursing Home. She was born on October 15, 1958 in Charleston, WV, a daughter of the late Richard and Rose Mustachio Weaver.

Peggie is survived by her husband of 35 years, Matthew Smith, whom she married on August 17, 1990.

In addition to her husband, Peggie is survived by her son, Lucas Smith of Myrtle Beach, SC; two siblings, Jimmy Weaver and wife Karen of Louisville, KY and Shelia Bailes and husband David of South Charleston, WV.

Peggie was a licensed real estate agent and worked a short time at Wesbanco, but her greatest joy was becoming a stay at home mom to raise her son. She loved to collect seashells, play scrabble, and solve crossword puzzles.

Per Peggie’s wishes, she will be cremated.
