Paul Eugene “Perk” Hickman, 87, of Bridgeport, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025 in Bridgeport. He was born on January 27, 1938 in Clarksburg, a son of the late John Allen Hickman, Sr. and Bina Florence Bennett Hickman.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Patricia “Patti” Ashcraft Hickman, whom he married on August 22, 1959.
He is also survived by two children, Sharon Helton of Vandalia, OH and Paul Hickman and wife Lesli of Clarksburg; three grandchildren, Adam John Wesley Helton, Whitney Shalayne Lambert and Logan Paul Hickman and wife Megan; five great grandchildren, Kyra Jayde Lee Helton, Aubree Rae Lambert, Leighton Grace Hickman, Carson Paul Lambert and Alexa Elaine Hickman; one sister-in-law Cathy Belcastro-Hickman.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Philip Patrick Hickman and his great grandson, Xander Helton.
Perk was a proud graduate of Victory High School, Class of 1956, where he was a dedicated athlete who loved playing basketball and football. He spent many years as a supervisor with Rolland Glass Company and later with Union Carbide, where his strong work ethic and leadership continued until his retirement. In 1981, Perk gave his life to Christ and became a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church, a commitment that guided the rest of his life. He found joy in playing softball and golf and even greater joy in being surrounded by family. Easygoing, funny, and always happy, Perk had a way of making people feel comfortable and cared for. He was a hardworking man, a devoted family man, and an excellent provider who loved deeply and gave generously.
Perk will be remembered not only for what he did, but for who he was, a steady presence, a loving heart, and a life that reflected faith, laughter, and love. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Family will receive friends at the Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr. Rt. 98, Clarksburg on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 from 10:00 AM - until time of funeral service at 12:00 noon with Reverend Jeff Vaughan officiating.
