Nora B. (Mason) Hostuttler

Nora B. Hostuttler, 78 of Clarksburg passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025, after a long illness. Born in Wetzel County in 1947, she was the daughter of the late Hayward and Lona Ice Mason.  

She is survived by her children, Lori (Charlie), Mark (Lisa), Matthew, and Michael; her beloved grandsons, Logan and Lance Hostuttler; siblings, Larry Mason, Roger Mason and Gary Mason; several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Donald “Don” Hostuttler; brothers, John Mason and Ron Mason; sister-in-law Jean Adams; and in-laws, Jarvis and Hettie Hostuttler.  

Nora was a graduate of Valley High School in Pine Grove. She worked at Westinghouse in Fairmont before having children. She was a devoted mother and wonderful homemaker. She loved children and babysat many of the neighborhood kids and others over the years. A natural caregiver, Nora tended to her family, friends, and neighbors when they were in need. She was always kind-hearted, caring, and supportive. She also loved animals, especially her dogs and grand-dogs.  

In her later years, Nora suffered from Parkinson’s Disease. It made her life very difficult, but she took it in stride. She did the best she could and wasn’t angry or bitter. She was selfless to the end. Her resilience, kindness, and unconditional love should be an inspiration to us all.  

The family wishes to thank the staff of United Hospital Center 7th floor and the Clarksburg Healthcare Center for their care at the end of Nora’s life.   

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Harrison County Humane Society or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

Family will receive friends at the Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr. Rt. 98, Clarksburg on Monday, October 20, 2025 from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM.   Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at Davis Funeral Home at 11:00 am.
