Nancy May Shuman, 77, of Laurel Valley, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at United Hospital Center. She was born on August 24, 1947, in Clarksburg, WV, a daughter of the late McKinley Fredrick and Agnus May Rinehart Hamrick.
Nancy is survived by her two sons, Mel Roy Shuman and wife Anita of Augusta, GA, and Clifford Brooks Shuman and wife Shannon of West Milford; one granddaughter, Nodia Hitt and husband Dustin; and three great-grandchildren, Alaundra, Aidon, and Cathan.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Eugene Shuman, on January 20, 2013; her grandson, Nathaniel Brooks Shuman; and one brother, Donnie Hamrick.
Nancy graduated from Victory High School and attended Fairmont State College. She worked as a medical records technician at United Hospital Center for over twenty years. She was also a dedicated homemaker who loved spending time with her family. Over the years, she was a breeder of miniature Schnauzers and Yorkshire Terriers, and she participated in obedience classes and competitions with her dogs.
