Mittie Grace (Lantz) Meahl, 83, of Bridgeport, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023 at United Hospital Center with her family by her side following an extended illness.
She was born in Mount Clare on December 22, 1939, a daughter of the late Marvin G. Lantz and Mary O. (Bayes) Lantz Mitchell.
In addition to her parents, Mittie was preceded in death by her three sisters Clara Bell (Lantz) Shreves, Olivenne (Lantz) Moneypenny, and Shirley (Lantz) Close.
She was wed to her husband 64 and a half years, Carl A. Meahl, Sr. on July 5 1958, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Carl resides at their home at Maplewood in Bridgeport. He was the love of her life.
Mrs. Meahl is also survived by her two sons, Carl A (Butch) Meahl, Jr. and his wife Beth of Jane Lew and Adam D. Meahl of Bloomington, Indiana; three grandchildren, Brandy L. (Meahl) Wyatt and her husband Benjamin, Curtis L. Meahl, and Randi J. Tinney: one great granddaughter, Krystina M. Wyatt; one sister Priscella (Lantz) Lusk of Louisiana as well as several nieces and nephews.
Being a wife of a Navy Chief, Carl and Mittie, lived at many Naval Bases and finally settled back in Clarksburg. She was a very devoted wife and mother. They attended both Duff Street United Methodist Church and Bridgeport United Methodist Church faithfully for many years. Their favorite vacation spot was Walt Disney World.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, WV 26301 on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 from 11:00 AM- until the time of service at 1:00 PM with Reverend Jim Malick officiating.
