Michelle McClain Obituary

Michelle Lea McClain, 55, of Elkins, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born on October 27, 1970, in Ravenna, Ohio, the beloved daughter of the late Cynthia Laurie Underwood Smith and Jerry Smith.

Michelle was a vibrant, caring, and selfless woman whose love for her family knew no bounds. She had a heart of gold that gave endlessly and a spirit that radiated warmth to everyone she met. Strong and courageous, she faced life’s challenges with grace and resilience. Even during difficult times, her laughter, quick wit, and adventurous soul never faded.

She found joy in making memories with her family, especially her children and grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Whether it was a simple family gathering, a spontaneous adventure, or just sitting together sharing stories, Michelle made every moment meaningful. She loved deeply and fiercely, always putting others before herself. She adored her beloved bulldog, Zoey, who was a constant companion and source of comfort. Michelle also cherished riding on the Harley with Kenny, feeling the open road and the freedom she so loved. Her presence was lively and unforgettable, and her love will continue to guide those she leaves behind.

Michelle is survived by the love of her life, Kenny Reed; her daughters, Nichole Hall and husband Blake of Clarksburg, and Haley McClain and husband Brandon of Salem; and her cherished grandchildren, Landon, Noah, Madilynn, Caleb, Cam, Bryson, Kynleigh, and Sophia.

She is also survived by her sister, Brenda McClain and husband John of West Union; her brother, Danny Lovejoy and wife Janna of West Union; her brother, Lester Thomas and wife Fran of Virginia; as well as several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
