Michael "Mike" Duke, Sr. Obituary

Michael “Mike” Anthony Duke, Sr., 63, of Clarksburg, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. He was born December 3, 1957 in Clarksburg, the son of the late Earl V Duke Jr and Geneva R. Talerico Duke.

Mike graduated from Washington Irving High School, Class of 1975. He retired from the Harrison County Board of Education as Head Custodian last at Mountaineer Middle School with over thirty-five years of service. Mike loved his job and his coworkers tremendously. Anyone who knew Mike, knew he put all his heart in his job. Mike was a very special person. Everyone who knew him, loved him. He would do anything for anyone. Mike and his son, Michael, spent many hours in the woods hunting. They enjoyed hours on Michael’s boat and fishing with Mike’s brother Stephen and brother-in-law, Steve Sheets. Mike loved going to the beach and enjoyed the many vacations he spent with son Michael and his wife, Alisa. He also loved visits with family and good food. Mike was the best dad and husband anyone could have asked for. The bond and love between Mike and Alisa were extremely strong and he will be greatly missed.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Alisa Ann Williamson Duke. Mike is also survived by one granddaughter, Aria, who stole her Poppy’s heart and they loved each other so much; his in-laws, Sharon and Ray Eddy; one brother, Stephen and Barbie Duke; one sister, Regina and Bob Welch; one sister in law, Anita and Steve Sheets; nieces and nephews, Matthew and Alexis Patrick, Shelby Patrick, Tessa Termeus, Tia Clark, and Toni Siebert; great niece, Elsie Patrick; as well as one special great niece Emma Patrick, whom Mike had many tea parties and bubble times with; aunt, Loretta Mills; uncles, Dennis Ross and Charlotte, Randy Ross and Joyce.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his son, Michael Anthony Duke Jr.
