Michael Scott Rowan, 63, of Fairmont, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026 in Fairmont. He was born on September 8, 1962 in Clarksburg, a son of the late Dana Wood Rowan and Geraldine Rowan.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lois Holmes Rowan, whom he married on December 22, 1995.
He is also survived by many siblings, Rex Rowan, Danny and Faye Rowan, David and Sherry Rowan, Glenn Rowan, Mary Rowan, Kim Rowan, Anna Rowan, Gerry and Raymond Connors, Brenda Delaney, Carolyn and Jim Blankenship, Vicky and John Butcher, and Hazel and Tim Rader; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings, William and Leona Rowan, James and Judy Rowan, Donald Rowan, Clarence Rowan, Harold Rowan, Eleanor and Eugene Demastus and Effie and Charles Delaney, Pamela Rowan and Harry Delaney.
Michael was employed in the maintenance department for several locations throughout the area and also worked at Wave Tech in Fairmont. He was known for his straightforward manner, kind heart, and unique personality that left a lasting impression on those who knew him. A devoted outdoorsman, Michael enjoyed fishing and hunting, and he spent many quiet hours reading western books. He also served faithfully as a Pentecostal minister, sharing his faith and compassion with others. Although he did not have children of his own, Michael dearly loved his dog, Prince Charles, who was his loyal companion and brought him great happiness. Michael will be remembered for his honesty, generosity, strong faith, and the genuine way he cared for family and friends.
