Michael Exline Obituary

Michael “Mike” Exline, 78, of Lumberport went home to be with the Lord at his home on Friday, January 10, 2025.  He was born on December 5, 1946 in Lumberport, a son of the late Owen E. and Waneda Exline.  

He had worked in Ohio at Sas Rubber Company before moving back to WV, where he worked some mine shaft work and warehouse work.  He loved his family and God with a great love.  He never knew a stranger.  His love to sing was also great.  He sang and played his guitar for the Lord at church and at Lumberport Senior Citizens Satellite.  He loved growing his garden, growing his own plants and stopping to chat with his gardener friend Bob Harbert.  Feeding the birds was also a must!

Mike is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn Sue DeWitt Exline, whom he married on March 18, 1968; children, Holly Berrish and husband Steve of Lumberport and Heidi Oliverio and husband Dale also of Lumberport; four grandchildren, Miranda Stier and husband Dakota of Lumberport, Alexis Wright and husband Ben of Lumberport, Nathan Oliverio and wife Alyssa of Fairmont, Hannah Oliverio of Morgantown; one great grandchild, Levi Wright of Lumberport.  Mike loved them all dearly. Also surviving are two siblings, Thomas Exline and wife Linda of Lumberport and Mary Beverly and husband Charles of Lumberport; aunt Zelma Lemasters and husband Fred of Keyser; several cousins, nieces and nephews and all their families.  All were special to him; Also, all of his special friends and brothers and sisters in Christ from the New Covenant Fellowship Church at Cambria.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Michael Tracey; sister, Imogene McIntyre, his mother and father-in-law, Mary and Junior DeBerry, and wonderful aunts, their husbands, brothers-in-law and a special sister-in-law and niece.
