Mary Ryan Obituary

Mary Lola Ryan, 95 of Corbin Branch Road in Bridgeport, WV passed away at her home, on July 4, 2021.She was the daughter of the late Earl F. and Harriett (Linville) Hardman and was born in Clarksburg, WV on Sunday, October 18, 1925.   Mary Lola was raised in Sardis and graduated from Victory High School.  She worked for the US Postal Service in Washington DC, and Hart Machinery in Clarksburg, WV.  On March 8, 1946, she married the late, Claude J. “Bud” Ryan and together they worked their land and raised four children. Mary Lola is survived by her children Gladys Marks Davisson, Claude J. Ryan III (Crystal). Rosemary B. Woods (Selby) and Heather E. Ribel (Robert) all of Bridgeport.  Mary Lola was the proud grandmother to 7 grandchildren, Jonathon E. Marks (Denine), Bridgeport, WV, Christopher R. Marks, St. Petersburg, Fl, Claude J Ryan IV (Briana), Bridgeport, WV, Stacey D. Mangum (Lawson), Bridgeport, WV, Shannon N. Holliday (Jesse), Shepherdstown, WV, Kelly R. Jackson (Brian), Bridgeport, WV, and Stephanie J. Dalton (Andrew), Morgantown, WV.  She had 15 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her brothers Okey, Richard, and Frank Hardman and her sisters Bell Marie McCarty, Zelma Lee Smith, and Bertie Lou Moore all of Youngstown, Ohio.  Special acknowledgement and appreciation are extended to our friend Erica Gabriel and the WVU Hospice

She is clothed with strength and dignity: she can laugh at the days to come.

She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:
“Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

A graveside celebration of her life will be held later at Sardis Cemetery.  Online condolences can be made at www.davisfuneralhomewv.com.  In lieu of flowers, donation can be made in her name, to Sardis Cemetery c/o Missy Shiflet 16 Lower Lane, Mount Clare, WV 26301. Davis Funeral Home and Onsite Crematory is handling the cremation and honored to serve the Ryan family.
