Mary Rose (Merandi) Malfregeot

Mary Rose (Merandi) Malfregeot, 93 of Clarksburg, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at her residence. She was born January 31, 1926 in Ziesing, WV; the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Marie Iaquinta Merandi.

Rose is survived by her children, Marcel C. Malfregeot Jr and wife Betsy of Clarksburg, Veronica A.(Malfregeot) Tonkin of Clarksburg and late husband Tim Tonkin, James (Jim) Malfregeot and wife Brenda of Clarksburg and Kelly (Malfregeot) Mazza and husband John of Morgantown; grandchildren, Marcel C. Malfregeot III and wife Deanna of Allison Park, PA, Michael C. Malfregeot and wife Irene of Clarksburg, Susan C. Malfregeot of Clarksburg, Holly Ann Tonkin and partner Amanda Deitz of St. Albans, WV, Timothy Luke Tonkin of Factoryville, PA, James Malfregeot II and wife Kate of Lancaster, PA, Julian F. Malfregeot and partner Haleigh Gaskins of New York, NY, Alexandria Rose Mazza of Nashville, TN, Gabriella Amor Mazza of Morgantown, and John Rosario Mazza of Morgantown; great grandchildren Alex Malfregeot, Ava Malfregeot, Andrew Malfregeot, Silas Malfregeot, Clark Malfregeot, Brooks Malfregeot, Abigail Tonkin, Emma Deitz, and Chad Deitz; four siblings, Ann Marie Merandi of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Eugene F. Merandi and wife Krista of Coral Springs, FL, Thomas F. Merandi and wife Cecilia of Saint Augustine, FL, and Albert F. Merandi and wife Jane of Clarksburg, WV; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Rose is preceded in death by her husband Marcel Charles Malfregeot, Sr. on November, 16, 1997; six siblings, Constance A. Merandi, Martha Virginia Merandi, Sam A. Merandi and Mary Martha, John A. Merandi and Anna, Jack Merandi and Mary; and Lucy Merandi Mace and John; brother-in-laws, Phillip Malfregeot and Ellen Margaret;  Jules Malfregeot and Melina.

Rose loved her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was fun-loving and loved life. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and doing needle point. She was a loyal and faithful member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr., Clarksburg, on Friday, November 8, 2019 from 2 – 8:00 PM with a Vigil Rite service at 7:30 PM. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 11: 00 am with Monsignor Tony Cincinnati as celebrant, Father Joseph Wiley and Father Pasty Wash as co-celebrants. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the WVU Medicine Hospice in Memory of Rose Malfregeot, 300 Davisson Run Road, Clarksburg, WV 26301.

The family would like to thank the wonderful, extraordinary and loving caregivers for their devotion and unconditional support. We have been truly blessed with the following five angels: Missie Boyles, Connie Swiger, Karen Lindsay, Shirley Hager and Tammy Swiger. Words cannot begin to express our appreciation.
