Mary Emma Hawkins, 92, of Clarksburg passed away on Friday, April 16, 2021 United Hospital Center. She was born August 15, 1928 in Northview, daughter of the late Gordan Leon and Glady Mildred Johnson Talkington.
Mary graduated from Lumberport High School, Class of 1946 and attended Fairmont College. She worked at Hazel Atlas, Continental Can and retired from Brockway. She attended in her younger years the United Brethren Church in Northview. She was a part-time beautician and enjoyed and very talented in crocheting and loved going to the cabin at Bemis which became a second home. Mary was a lifetime member of the Clarksburg VFW Auxiliary 573, Harrison county Senior Center and AFL-CIO.
Mary is survived by two special nephews, Justin Talkington and Ashly, Lost Creek and Jonathan “J.T.” Talkington, Bridgeport and their mother Sandy Dawson and husband Gordan, Bridgeport; additional nieces and nephews, Bridget Swisher and Richard, Brian Talkington all of Elkins,Rexann Martin and Ed, Anmoore; Drusella “Dru” Winings, Ralph Talkington both Ohio; great nieces and nephews, Thomas, Isaac, Christopher, Morgan, Hunter and T.J and several addition great nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Zadah Talkington; extended family, Delores Erckert, South Point, OH, and sons, Robert, Richard, Ralph and Randy; Elmer Hawkins and Norma, Lancater, OH and son Junior; special friends, Doodles and Pete Oges, Cleveland, OH and Terry Keith.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Harrison Hawkins Jr. on January 30, 2009 and whom she married on July 3, 1947; three brothers, Grover Leon Talkington, Roger Lee Talkington, Rexal William Talkington; sister-in-law, Ola Talkington.
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, WV 26301, on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 from 3:00PM until time of Funeral Service at 7:00PM with Josh Oldaker officiating.
