Mary Lou Grimes, 81, of Clarksburg, passed away at her home on Tuesday evening, March 21, 2023. She was born on August 14, 1941 in Clarksburg, a daughter of the late Gail Hardy and Rose Mary Barker Hardy Adams.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cleophas Gerald Grimes who passed away on November 30, 1990.
She is survived by her daughter, Robin Lynn Bise of Clarksburg; grandchildren, Crystal Beighley, Shannon Hartnett and her husband Robert, and Cory Michael Syslo, Taylor Syslo and Gerald Syslo; great grandchildren, Jordan Lundell, Payton Beighley, Makylie Kendall, Isabella Hartnett, and Ethan Hartnett and Wizdym Syslo; brothers and sisters, Leroy Hardy, Patricia Ann Wolford, who gave so much love and care to Mary.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Jo Syslo; her great granddaughter, Chelsea Rose Gibbs, grandson, Mark Lundell, Jr., two brothers, Gail Hardy, Jr. and Tom Hardy; and her son-in-law Randy Bise; Crystal’s husband, Brian Beighley; and her very best friend, Dottie Wilt.
Mary graduated from Washing Irving High School and she worked for Garden Fresh Grocery Store, and Chenoweth Ford as a payroll clerk for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed going to yard sales and working in her yard in her flower garden and also playing cards in Buckhannon with her friends. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Family and friends will be received at the Davis Funeral Home on Sunday, March 26, 2023 from 1:00-5:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday, March 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM with Reverend James Harris presiding. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
