Mary Alene Chiero

Mary Alene Chiero, 73, of Clarksburg, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at the Louis A Johnson Medical Center. She was born on April 9, 1951, in Clarksburg, WV, daughter of the late Dominick and Josephine Carmella Fragmin Chiero.

Mary graduated from Roosevelt Wilson High School Class of 1969. After graduation, she served her country in the United States Army. Mary ran her own daycare for over 40 years. She loved all the children that came through her doors as if they were her own. She was a member of the Clarksburg VETS club. She loved working on puzzles, being outdoors, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her two daughters, Angela Michael and Adrian of Clarksburg, and Mesha Chiero and Steven Brown of Clarksburg; one she thought of as a daughter, Kathy Bland of Clarksburg; grandchildren: Adrian Michael and companion Maddie Williams of Fairmont, Zeadrea Jones and spouse Kara of Clarksburg, Zion Michael and fiancé Keena Metz of Clarksburg, Azaria Michael of Clarksburg, Tyllian Brown and companion Carleigh Alley of Galax, VA, Natasha Bland and children Dajahne and Mahiya of Clarksburg, Tanisha Bland and daughter Adira of Clarksburg, and Davina Bland and son Bradley of Clarksburg; great-grandchildren: Zayden, Zavion, Zakari, Indigo Rain, and one on the way, Khalil; two siblings, John Chiero and spouse Marilyn of CA, and Sandra Malcomb and spouse Allen of Clarksburg; nieces and nephews: John Philip Blackburn and fiancé Maggie of Clarksburg, Tina Kaura and spouse Amit and children Garrett and Teegan of PA, Samuel Stephens of Clarksburg, Timmy Stephens and spouse Corinda and son Dylon of Clarksburg, Hannah Stephens and companion Brandon and daughter Sophie Jo of Clarksburg, Joshua Blackburn and children Jaxon, Claire, and Macy Jo of SC, Zachary Cain of Clarksburg, John Chiero Jr. and spouse April and their children of CA, PJ Chiero and spouse Hazel of CA, and Nathan Chiero of CA; special friend who was like a sister, Karen Lipscomb and her children and grandchildren, Katrina, Zack, and Bre.

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by one grandson, Kurshawn Jones; one sister, Charlene Blackburn.

Private Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
