Martha L. Griffith

Martha L. Griffith, 80, of Clarksburg, passed away at her home on Saturday, November 15, 2025.  She was born on March 8, 1945 in Clarksburg, a daughter of the late Cleophus “Boots” Grimes and Mary Frush Grimes.

She is survived by two sons, James Griffith and wife Lisa of Clarksburg and Robert Griffith and wife Dawn of Clarksburg; three grandchildren, Jonathan R. Griffith, Rachel Elizabeth Griffith, Cheyla Breaun Pitts and fiancée John Leftwich; two siblings, Gary Allen Grimes and wife Joan of NC and Patrick E. Grimes and wife Myra of Taylor County; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her siblings, Sarah Glaspell, Timothy Grimes and Gerald Grimes.

Martha was a proud graduate of Victory High School, Class of 1963. She spent much of her working life in collections at a Brockway glass factory and later with American Vending, where she was known for her reliability and strong work ethic.  Martha had a deep love for her dog, Molly and her cats, Kali and Chance.  She also found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed working puzzles, and playing cards.  She could often be found watching crime stories and mysteries, which she loved to follow and figure out. She was strong-willed and determined, yet also generous, loving, and devoted to those she cared about.  She will be remembered for her strength, her kindness, and the warmth she shared with family and friends.

Family will receive friends at the Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr. Rt. 98, Clarksburg on Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM, where a service will be held at 6:00 with Pastor Jimmy Stone presiding.   Online condolences can be made at DavisFuneralHomeWV.com.
