Marquetta Louise Jones

Marquetta Louise Jones, 68, of Stonewood, passed away at her home on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.  She was born on July 22, 1956 in Clarksburg, a daughter of the late Harry Herbert and Bertha Elizabeth Bailey Barrett.

Marquetta joined David Lynn Jones in marriage on December 6, 1975.

She is survived by two sons, David William Jones and wife Rhonda of Stonewood, Randy Lynn Jones of Clarksburg; two grandchildren, Brandon Lee Jones and Camden Scott Jones of Clarksburg; two sisters; Ruth Syers and husband Matt of Nebraska, Rebecca “Becky” Miller of Clarksburg; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Marquetta was preceded in death by her siblings, Carolyn Suggs, Elizabeth Robinson, Leroy Barrett, Johnny Barrett, Wayne Barrett, Linda West, Luther “Dick” Barrett

Marquetta was a graduate of Washington Irving High School, Class of 1975. She was employed as a CNA doing private duty. Marquetta loved helping take care of her grandchildren and was a wonderful cook.  She was very dedicated to her job as a CNA because she loved caring for people. She was a loving mother and wife.  Marquetta was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church on Old Davisson Run.

Family will receive friends at the Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr. Rt. 98, Clarksburg on Sunday, June 8, 2025 from 1:00-5:00 PM and on Monday, June 9, 2025 from 9:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM with Reverend Randy G Landis presiding.
