Mark Edward Meredith

Mark Edward Meredith, 63, of Salem, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his family and friends. He was born on November 7, 1961 in Clarksburg, WV, the son of the late John Lafayette and Maxine June (McIntyre) Meredith.

Mark proudly graduated with the Liberty High School Class of 1980. Throughout his life, he dedicated himself to hard work and service, spending several years as a Correctional Officer with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department until he transferred to the North Central Regional Jail as a Correctional Officer in 2001. He also gave his time and talents working as a security guard with New Park, a salesman at Jenkins Auto Parts, and later as a medical courier for Pharmologic.

Faith and fellowship were important to him, as a devoted member of the Congregational Missionary Church in Stonewood. He also found purpose and camaraderie as a Mason and through his involvement with the VFW.

Mark had a deep love for the outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, or simply riding his tractor, those moments brought him peace and joy. Yet, nothing compared to the happiness he felt when surrounded by his grandchildren. They were the light of his life, and every moment with them was treasured in his heart.

Mark is survived by his companion, Brenda Lynn Richards of Stonewood; step children: Angela Arnett and spouse Travis of Clarksburg, Natasha Trent of Clarksburg, Jeffery Rymer and spouse Noel of Salem, Samuel Brunetti of Morgantown, and Michelle Morgan and spouse Anthony of Clarksburg; grandchildren: Travis, Dalton, Trenia, Jessica, Gage, Lincoln, Harper, Dakota, Jasmin, Jeffrey “JJ”, Samantha, Kaylee, Thomas, Benjamin, Jacob, and Noah; one niece, Amy Elizabeth Lucas and spouse Mitch of Salem; one great-nephew, Chase Lucas of Stonewood; friend and neighbor, Chrissy Meredith of Salem.

In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Sue Meredith; one brother, William John “Johnny” Meredith.
