Margaret S. (Johnson) Hurst

Margaret S. Hurst, 69 of Bridgeport, was called to her heavenly home on January 26, 2023 at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV.  She was born in Zanesville, OH, on April 14, 1953 to the late Lloyd Johnson Jr. and Susannah M. Davis Johnson

Margaret worked at the Clarksburg Harrison Regional Housing Authority as Public Housing Manager where she retired with 41 years of service.  She enjoyed playing bingo, whistling, traveling, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Her life was her family and especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of forty two years, Jesse Wayne Hurst whom she married on September 26, 1980; one daughter, Tressie Sue Hurst Mazzie and husband Frank of Stonewood, WV; two grandchildren, Frank Anthony Mazzie II, and Anastasia Marie Mazzie of Stonewood, WV; one brother, Roger Johnson and wife Laverne of Kitts Hill, OH; one sister, Rebecca “Becky” Stires of Clarksburg and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, great-great nieces and nephews; one step-daughter, Jennifer Bruce of Virginia Beach, VA, step-grandson, step-granddaughter, and great step-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents Margaret was proceeded in death by a very special brother-in-law Jeffrey L. Stires and step-son Bryan S. Hurst.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg WV on Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 2:00-7:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 P.M. with Reverend Richard Settles officiating.  Online condolences can be made at www.DavisFuneralHomeWV.com.
